A few days ago, I made the decision to leave Facebook Completely, by deactivating it. Also, I deleted all of my personal information and mobile phone number, and unfriended all of my friends. It's not that, I don't want to be friends, with these people anymore. I just do not want to do it through Facebook. It's been about three days since I made a clean break, and I do not miss it at all. I still have Instagram and my YouTube Channel, which is going to feature more on synthesizers and electronic music, and other forms of music. I am moving away from showcasing my antique phonographs, as there is not much interest. Mainly, as there are so, many other channels. Anyway, I needed too do this, as I was becoming addicted to it.

I agree in principal but use it to keep in touch with my precious grand daughter, who, like others of her age, is not into using e mail.

I deactivate all the time...mostly during the week so I am less tempted to go there... go on for the weekend & I don't get as aggravated at the content....ya know?? At least.....80% of my friends are all grammar & high school....
If you went that far Paul you may as well have deleted your account.....

I must be the proverbial odd man out. I have never joined Facebook. It really never held much fascination for me. My wife and children all have a presence on Facebook. I never liked that the posts disappeared so quickly and are nearly impossible to find only a few days later. Then there's the hundreds and hundreds of "friends" the one accumulates without ever really talking to them. I prefer a forum where one can, at least, get some sense of the people he or she coexists with on the message board. In short, a forum seems more "human" and "warm", if you see what I mean.

I was also becoming disheartened with all the political posts people would put up. Especially, during the 2016 election. Not, only that, but Facebook would remind you of a something you posted 4 years ago. Also, people wanted to be friends because, of a mutual friendship, or interest, and don't get me started on the fake female profiles, who wanted me too see there nude bodies. Have some respect.

Using face book is fine if one exhibits self control. This applies to most things in life, know when to stop, be moderate.

I lack self control! I was on it almost everyday, checking it, almost every 5 to 10 minutes. It was really really bad, and that was one of the reasons for leaving. Plus there were people who were posting too much political stuff. I think people tend to overshare, too much on Facebook.
