Alan Wilson- "Blind Dog"- played with Canned Heat and was pretty well known and respected in his day. He was not afraid to experiment and was an early retuner of harps to get certain notes on certain songs. Heat backed JL Hooker and did a lot in the blues genre in their heyday and Wilson was in the center of that.

Right Scorp. Oops!
James, I somehow missed Canned Heat for the most part and I don't know where he was from.
From Wiki: Alan Christie Wilson (July 4, 1943 – September 3, 1970) was a co-founder, leader, and primary composer for the American blues band Canned Heat. He played harmonica, guitar, and sang with the group live and on recordings. Wilson was lead singer on Canned Heat's two biggest U.S. hit singles, "On The Road Again" and " Going Up The Country ".
