After you retire life gets really boring. After spending so many years interacting with colleagues and customers, I miss having other people that challenge my intellect and creative juices. I guess that's why I created this and other forums. I'm glad you guys are here. You make my day.
Thanks

Labor Day 2018
Celebrate the average worker.
"Labor Day, the first Monday in September, is a creation of the labor movement and is dedicated to the social and economic achievements of American workers. It constitutes a yearly national tribute to the contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of our country."
Who is cooking out!

The weather here in SW Virginia makes me want to go fishing. 70s for the next 3 days. River just stocked with trout.
Or head to Smith Mountain Lake for Stripers and Crappie. Pre-spawnn underway and great fishing.

Yesterday was sunny but with the north wind it was rude out. Of course part of my duties are outside. Speaking of retirement I have changed the word to recareerment. I think even if I had plenty og ,money I'd have to have things to keep me occupied and productive.
In 2017 I left my last full time job and got SS started, then we hooked up and toured the US for most of the year. We ended up losing that travel trailer. After a false start in Vegas (where I got not ONE job offer), we hit Tulsa around New year's 2018, and after we recovered from the flu we'd brought along I began doing temp work to keep the ends meeting. We ended up in Tulsa for a year pretty much and between temp work and gigs we saved enough to get a fresh trailer, and got back "out there". Along the way I discovered that I can work part time at RV parks in exchange for a site with hookups! Workamping. This is a huge help not paying rent for a site. It also keeps me occupied so I don't burn out my clutch or blow a gasket. I do some landscaping, clean facilities, escort campers, and lots of small projects around the grounds.
Jo had a fall at a beach a few weeks ago so I am also sort of a caretaker for now cook, clean, and anything else she can't do for now.
I got to do some surf fishing along the Panhandle of Florida last month and there's a bit of opportunity right here, just not a lot of fish so far!
I am not bored!
