That looks very interesting, Jim. I've never been there. It opened after I moved from Tennessee, but I did hear about the museum from a couple of friends who are still there. Of Course, it was always a big deal that Bristol, Virginia/Bristol, Tennessee was the birthplace of country music among the locals. The little town I lived in Was named Kingsport, Tennessee (very close to Bristol) and the story there went that Bristol May have been the birthplace of country music, but Kingsport was the town that A.P. Carter bought the first guitars for himself and Mother Maybelle. Those guitar purchases were Kingsport's Claim To Fame (not that there was a rivalry or anything. LOL).
I will say, Categorically, That some of the best musicians I've ever heard were from the local area. I'm not talking about anyone famous (or even anyone who wanted to be famous), just men and women who played for the love of making music. Whole families who could play any instrument with strings. Just outstanding musicians.
