It has been a busy and eventful 2 weeks, and not in a good way it turns out. Jo has a fractured vertebra in her lower back, the L1, which is the highest up lumbar vert. She took a fall at a beach last week and is now laid up for at least 2 months and possibly more. So far no surgery on the horizon but I think this next phase will be a challenge. She is wearing a back brace a lot and has to manage pain with some pretty effective non-opioid meds, something she has never had to do for very long. In this case it may be weeks or months. Fortunately the owners here are planning to keep me busy for as long as we need to be here, which is debatable. Once Jo is healed (in a perfect world), we'd be heading to NY state near the Catskill Mountains where I have another job lined up. Unfortunately I expect the owners there will need to fill the position for the season since I don't expect to be there by late April as we had planned. So we may stay on here through the summer unless I find something else later in the season. Maybe the real bad news is, Jo can't play guitar for at least the next couple of months. Along with other restrictions this is going to be a major change for a time.
That's it in a nutshell.

Jo is doing ok. It will be some time for this to heal. Music is at a stand still here, I don't even want to play anything on the stereo or youtube because Jo will start moving to it and that may not be good. After all she was doing a dance spin on the beach and that's how she fell. So it's a time to be a bit quieter.

Jo is digging some David Bowie at the moment- her choice! I call this good news.

At this point we have some guarded good news. As of yesterday Jo has been given a green light to resume guitar, when she feels ready to. After three weeks of uncertainty this news is HUGE! We met with a surgeon/specialist yesterday and he went over everything. So she needs better seating than we have, time to shop for a couple of good chairs. Also she has a brace to wear when she's up and about. And osteoporosis needs to be addressed as well. She will have to learn to sit straight for a while as she plays. If all goes well this will be pretty well resolved in a couple more months.
What it looks like over all is, we may be staying here in North Carolina for the season, then hopefully either south or southwest for the winter. I cancelled my workamp gig in NY today. Health first! Travel is just on the back burner until Jo gets a clean bill of health.
I'm staying busy here between taking care of my best gal EVER and working around the park here, so no moss growing on me!
Jo is feeling up and down still but more up than down. Y'all's good thoughts and prayers are much appreciated folks!

Sending you and Jo all my best. I know you have to take care of yourself and your wife first and foremost.
