The first clip is of a song that was a "hit" in '65, and one some would play with when toying with a 12-string in a shop.... But nobody at the time ever mentioned it was a "cover" of a song from '29! Ran across it while surfin' through MUSIC CHOICE last night. Whitefang

Walk Right In - First time hearing the original. I remember it being quite a hit in '65 with lots and lots of radio play.

I remember the 60's version. Pretty hip for 91 years old!

Well, NOW it's 91. But in '65? Just a punk 36. Had I known that back then I might have won some other free stuff like I did in '78 by winning that free joint due to "Move It On Over". Sometimes the only joy about getting old is coming out with some of these little bits of trivia on an uninformed youth. Like(one time I recall) back in the "day" seeing the shocked look on the face of my buddy's girl when I informed her that STEVE MILLER made recordings BEFORE "Fly Like An Eagle". Or another girl at the plant that ELVIN BISHOP was a respected bluesman for years before "I Fooled Around And Fell In Love." Same with some "kids" and BOZ SCAGGS. In fact, the first mentioned girl was equally shocked when told Scaggs used to be in Miller's band! Whitefang

And you could shock her today when you told her Steve worked with John Lee Hooker in the late 60's.

She'd have had no idea of who Hooker was. It was shock enough for her to learn Miller and her main heartthrob PAUL McCARTNEY did a tune together! Whitefang
