You know, with the coronavirus situation and certain restrictions? People advised to practice "social distancing" in a country where most of the "socializing" is done over the phone on "social" media. Well, I'm more or less a homebody anyway, so it's no hardship for me except being unable to visit my sister in law in the hospital and now the skilled nursing rehab facility. I do make occasional trips to the local MEIJER'S to get foodstuffs for the house. only spend 'bout 30 minutes tops in there then head for home. Not one to panic easily I just get what I'll need for a week. And I just (lately and before all this) try to stick to "3 squares" a day so see no need for hoarding toilet paper. Whitefang

We're trying for once a week too at the grocery. Of course a lot of our contact was through booking and playing dates at restaurants and clubs, which is a dead issue for present. We've cut out sightseeing jaunts but may do a few here and there, just no human contact while we're out.
Yesterday we hit a bank 30 miles away to deposit a little cash we had here but that was a drive through affair. A manager came to the window and pushed banking by phone, which I am loath to do. We check balances and move money by internet but certain things have to be face to face. And I just don't trust phones for sensitive stuff.
I'm pretty sure I'll be working here for the next month or so. I do have confirmation for my summer job in Ohio but who knows what may happen in the next month? If we can get there we will go.
We did some videos early this week and plan more soon.
I just got a couple of new gadgets via Amazon and spent some time with them this morning, a nifty tire inflator unit and a high end grease gun.
Probably keep making hummingbird feeders from Coke bottle caps and fishing line. TV here is mostly sucky but there are some rays of hope.
The harp players' group I started is seeing some activity too.

Okay here and also am more of a homebody. We don't do too much shopping and usually do some bulk items at Sam's. Folks around here are doing a lot of the spring yard type stuff so Lowes and Home Depot are busy in the garden sections which are mostly open with good airflow. Of course both post the distance from others signs. It is pretty windy here today with a good bit of rain overall. I'm keeping the airflow through the house going at intervals.
I had just connected with 4 other musicians to do a casual band thing but the Covid-19 thing started happening just as we were going to get together first time. Same with another long time deal with a couple friends doing a weekly playing get together. Both are on hold of course.

But you know, EAR....
Several bands have put together CDs and back as far as the late '70's some LPs without ever getting together in a recording studio. You might try something like that? Whitefang

Yeah I thought about that WF but it is too early on with this for that with the 4 . I might spend some time just doing some recording myself. I really haven't gotten into the home thing but have a USB interface. I may just try some things with backing tracks so to get a feel for it. Seems as a group the drummer would have the most tedious part in doing. Our drum guy is older with much experience from the late '60s on but doesn't do the electronics and recording thing.

I had considered getting a web cam and mic but since we have a decent camera now, we opted to just do some new vids of old covers and maybe add new as we go along, and post on YT and other places. The whole skype things and all that seems like a lot of hassle.

For now we're watching hummingbirds and putting a few videos on our YT page. www.youtube.com/user/JawboneandJolene If you'd like to look. The new versions have 2020 in the title line. The hype is, this week will be pivotal, but they also are saying we will not be out of the woods for maybe months. More rural areas can still be hit in coming weeks. My hope is that the shit will have passed in Ohio by the end of the month, so we can make the run north for the summer. I have my doubts that live music will be the same for a long time if ever. We won't give up but we may be adapting.
