Fred Willard has gone on. 86 years old, no big shock. But I always got a kick out of him. First saw him on Mary Hartmann and spinoffs and later on other wacky comedic projects. He and Martin Mull were a great team.

I'd say he was far from underrated. And beyond "Mary Hartman" and "Fernwood 2Night" Willard was brilliant in the many off-beat roles in those Christopher Guest "Mockumentaries". And as Phil Dunphy's Father on "Modern Family" and stints on "Everybody Loves Raymond".
Shiver factor---- Just saw him a couple of days ago in a rerun of "That 70's Show" paired with Seth Green as a Father and son team in some weird local fair competition. Whitefang

He had an amazing career and very wide variety of roles. His educational background was very different as well. I didn't really know him by name but saw him in many shows and especially in films. RIP Fred. Fred Willard

Hey! I just noticed..... Under my username over my avatar it reads, "Big in Japan". The closest I ever came to Japan was once owning a Panasonic radio. Whitefang
