Been quiet 'round here. Y'all must be taking advantage of the "reopenings" before the new virus spikes hit so you can all get your haircuts or whatevver other stuff done that you were prevented from before, eh? Whitefang

We are back open full on in Arizona. The virus count has doubled in the few weeks we have been back up and running. So far 131 cases in our zip code which doubled from the reopening count just a few weeks ago. They also think the protests downtown may have a lot to do with the spikes since reopening. Stay healthy all of you.

Life appears to be "normal" here. Except that we can't find any gigs. Yes people are wearing masks and trying social distancing, at least when they feel like it. Others will stick out their hand for a hearty shake when they meet you.
Looking back a few weeks I may have actually had a light bout with Crapola19. I had 2 days of slightly weird symptoms that were untypical for me and I have no idea where they came from. They disappeared after 2 days. I'm not going for tenting nor am I going to enter a hospital unless I get shot or fall off a cliff. But then I've felt that way for a long time.
We're sightseeing and also about to get the last major part of the remodel done on our little home, new flooring. So we're staying busy.

For me the quarantine hasn't been too much of a bother. Since my wife died and my lower spine trouble was retriggered I've spent most of my time cloistered at home anyway. So far the largest setback(for me) is that once the shut down started, a local market in my town(The JUMBO Market, been here since the late '40's) closed it's doors, I figured for the temporary quarantine period. Since the state announced the reopening for this past Monday, I drove by to see if they reopened and found the building still closed and covered with "For Lease" signs! What bothers me is it was the only place I knew of where I could get prune Lekvar(prune butter) and frozen veal patties. Since I was a kid I enjoyed prune butter on toast and in my adulthood reserved it for English muffins. And those veal patties made a good main entree or now and then a dandy hot sandwich. I'll have to look around for the lekvar as I'm doubtful of ever finding veal patties again. And I'm not that desperate for a haircut and never really hung out at bars, so the reopening isn't the big thrill it seemed to be for many others. Whitefang PS: In Polish cuisine Lekvar is mostly used for pastry fillings, like in PACKZI and blintzes. It's also the "prune" in prune Danish.

I haven't done much differently here lately from prior months just go the the store, bank and a few real estate home listings that are vacant. So far not able to get together with some folks to play but am checking with them occasionally. The drummer and are are 70 & 71 so we are more apt to be more careful although not that overly concerned. The other guys are mid 40s to mid 50s. Mrs and I haven't been in any of the restaurants but did order out some Mexican last week.
Whitefang, I've never had prune butter but really like apple butter. I may try it.

It's really not that bad. Ordinarily, I don't like to eat prunes, but prune butter is alright in my book. It's dark(black, in most cases) and me and my brother grew up with it. Like said, we'd put it on toast. And too, due to seeing a lot of old movies(but not so old at that point ) we'd put it on crackers and pretend it was that CAVIAR rich people in those movies was putting on crackers. Of course, after finding out just what caviar WAS, we decided to stick with the prune butter. And I like apple butter too, and sad that my favorite brand, DUTCH GIRL, can't be found anywhere anymore.
