They have opened up Arizona a bit, so I am able to go back to working out at our community gym (very few folks use the exercise room this time of year). Anyways there was two cases of Covid -19 in our community, and one man died from it, his wife survived it. We are gated in our community of over 2000 houses, most of which are empty for the summer. So access to this place is limited to those who have permission to get in here.
Anyways things are going OK for this house.
I hope y'all are doing well also. Stay healthy.

Being in RV parks wherever we go we are in kind of a unique situation. I have yet to hear of a single case any place we've stayed in the past 3 to 4 months when this stuff hit. We have been out and about talking to venues- no gigs by the way since both MS and LA have backed off of full pen due to spikes in new cases- And to Walmart etc. Any city, county, state, or federal office requires a mask and distancing of course. I walked into a chiropractor's office 2 weeks ago and was the only person with a mask. Ironically the Dr. told me he knew people who had died not far away of C19 yet he and his staff were not wearing masks. The did standard disinfecting of the table etc. Most businesses require their workers to have one on, mostly it's around their neck and not in place except Walmart. Those folks are wearing a mask like it should be worn. I know it has sort of spread to smaller communities but we have yet to hear of any local cases. I'm going to guess that no matter what else is said the places where testing is going on has bigger numbers regardless if they are accurate or not. Hospitals make $$ for active C19 cases.
Admittedly I was lax about wearing a mask for a few weeks here. When I first walked in with a mask I was alone. Staff told me if I felt sick I should not even be there, which made sense. The idea that an asymptomatic carrier may not be contagious has been kicked around too.
I honestly don't know what to think. There are different "facts" every damn day which contradict the previous "facts". There has of course been the push to reopen, and then a push to stay closed. One thing is certain to me. This crap will alter our lives in ways we don't even know yet.

Well jbone, I am suffering from cabin fever, not because of the pandemic, just because it is 110*F most every day here. And the governor just shut our gyms down till July 27th at least, so my only exercise is in the morning pre 6:00 AM when the temperature and sun overhead are bearable. The rest of the day is sitting in my park model, (see picture below) with an hour of guitar practice in there somewhere.
After a bit the 400 sq ft park model gets a bit small feeling. I started living here in my 32 Ft Jayco travel trailer which was even smaller, but I worked then so I was out of the house for 10 hours every work day.
The mobile home is registered with the DMV and the lot is deeded like real estate we own both and both are paid for. My living expenses here are less than $350 a month (including heating and cooling, property taxes, and association dues), house and lot are paid for when we bought them. We bought the lot in 1997, and Park Model in 1999. So livin is real cheap for us here add another 108 bucks for 3 cell phones and a few bucks here and there for upkeep. We only have over the air TV, so that costs us nothing. The community is over 2000 lots much of it is RV park, with some mobile home sections also, all of it deeded and every lot is privately owned. We both have little cars mine is a Honda fit, and hers is a Toyota Matrix. The little van is long gone...….

It's low 90's plus about 12 degree heat index here plus huge humidity. Like wearing a soaking wet warm blanket outdoors. 2 and sometimes 3 changes of clothes a day. I'm working 20 hours a week, 4 a day over 5 days. Mostly outdoors but plenty of water and some inside cool offs too. No ditch digging thankfully! I'm getting the amps out tomorrow or Thursday so we can practice lit up. Jo is planning to gig with the D'Angelico guitar Saturday- if we get to play! It will be the first gig with that guitar. We go for drives a few times a week, last time we followed the levee for about 15 miles down river, then wandered our way back home across square miles of crops. Decent roads. I talked with some guys who are catching some catfish close by on the river, mostly at night. I'm not a night fisherman these days. If the river were to rise some again I'd give it a try in morning and evening but it's dropping pretty fast now. The good ones are out in deeper holes not accessible by bank fishing. Lows at night are 75 or so lately. We do antenna TV as well. A few decent choices but I'm glad it's not my only amusement!

It's just getting around to touching the 90's here. Very low 90's. breeze coming into the front door from under the awninged porch is cool enough to make it bearable, along with the help of the front room ceiling fan. Was hoping to have my house central aired by now, but covid put the kibosh on that until later. The only time I regret having windows and doors open is when my neighbor, after mowing his lawn, insists on not letting any wind or breeze take care of loose clippings, and prefers to use his gas powered leaf blower! There's GOT to be a special corner in Hell for the jerk who invented those! Whitefang

So if you believe the news and the the situation with C19 spread is getting worse. I do believe that. Locally here we are not seeing a lot of new cases but in this state and the neighboring one the numbers are going up. Not like some but not good.
With the temps going triple digit heat index and no place we can set up indoors except here at home we are staying quiet musically. We go for drives midday most days but mostly we're here inside.
At this point the way Texas looks right now, I'm wondering if we're going to head that direction in 6 or 7 weeks. The Crap has kind of taken over one city about 30 miles from our destination there and I have to wonder how things will look when it gets close to go time. Of course my hope is this will all pass by then but the cynic in me doubts that a lot.

I hope you can find a decent summer spot, where you can work in clubs etc. Maybe check out the resorts in New Jersey, Maryland, Delaware, or New England might be the right place for y'all next season. Good luck...…..

I'm looking at Maine and Massachusetts maybe. At the moment we're wondering if we can head back to Texas in September. This whole thing stinks. Potentially we may all have to have "papers" to go to other states. Negative tests results etc.
It's difficult sometimes to keep a positive outlook. But I am an optimist!

You know, I'm staying busy with a bit of work here at this park and we're tooling around seeing the sights. WE had new carpet installed yesterday and I get to cut and put down all the trim. I'm hoping we can head south to Zachary and look in on Teddy of Juke Joint fame soon. Clarksdale is pretty far, 3 1/2 hour drive, so maybe not that. Not much going on there either. We'll keep bumping along here.
Where's Fang?

DBM--- I apologize for not letting y'all know my going in for spinal fusion surgery on the 8th. Just got back home yestrday afternoon. Feeling fine, just gotta strengthen up my legs so I can walk without that damned walker. My heart is full of love and gratitude for te family members and neighbors who took care of my home and made it safer for me to get around in during what my doctor says can be up to a year of recovery. Most were on my wife's side of the family, which proves I married into the right group.1 Whitefang
