Hope y'all read this in time. Just wishing all of you a safe and happy New Year's observance. If you go out remember to be wary of other drivers and remember to take plenty bail money. And don't forget to put your money out. Whitefang

I don't know what that means. Is it kind of like the tooth fairy?

It's an old Eastern European/Slavic custom. You put some money just outside your door before the new year, and bring it back in after the new year begins. The belief is it will insure you'll always have enough coming in and you will go the whole year without want.
I can't guarantee it works, but I've been doing it as a family tradition since I can remember. My children also follow suit.

We went to the sister in laws house and had a few drinks and came home unmolested by the gendarmes. Since we and the sister in law live in a gated and walled in community our roads are private property, no bail necessary.

We do a different tradition "The Power Ball and the Mega Millions, unlikely to ever win those but we do anyways. The money we spend and Az collects on the ticket purchase, that money goes to our schools.

I figure if I got back every penny I spent on lotto tickets since it's inception here in Michigan, I'd probably be pretty well fixed. Whitefang

Well Fangster we spend $30 every 5 weeks on 10 draws on one number in the Power Ball and The Pick (The Pick is a single million dollar lotto)(But I could live well on a 50 grand a year for 25 years added to our social securities) So I don't mind spending the $30 every 5 weeks.

Is that $30 all at once on the 5th week? or $30 spread out over 5 weeks? I quit buying lotto tickets years ago and haven't played the numbers since retiring from GM. I used to play the 4-digit "boxed" daily("dollar-dollar") at the cost of $14 a week. Once hit a double digit(was my address at the time) for $5,000! NOW the only gambling I do is exposing myself to modern medical practices. Whitefang

My $30 every 5th week is; $20 for 10 draws of Power Ball, which draws every Saturday night and every Wednesday night (10 draws and one set of numbers @ $2 per draw).
Then I also play the single dollar draw called "The Pick" which is a single million dollars jackpot (which sometimes exceeds over a 10 million dollar jackpot), cost for 5 weeks of the Pick @ 2 draws per week $10 @ $1 per draw.
Totaling $30 per every 5 weeks for both lotto's. I always have those running.
