Nah we live on the high ground. See photo below. The line where the developed area ends to the left of the picture, is also a big levee there which sends any water away from the developed area, although I have never seen any floods on that side of the levee either. Click on the picture and enlarge it, I live at Happy Trails which is near the right lower side of the picture. After the levee it is open desert with only a with a few small towns, between us and San Bernadino Ca.

Fangster, there is also a little canal on the west side (left side)that goes a long way south (Towards the bottom of the picture) It probably feeds into the Agua Fria River, to the Gila River (both dry most of the year) The Gila runs South and west to Yuma and eventually into the Colorado River which goes into the Gulf of California between Baja and mainland Mexico.

Glad to learn that. I've seen some pretty disturbing news footage from the flooded areas. 'Round here, most flooding is in the basements of some homes in areas with poorly maintained catch basins and storm drain pumps. Which is why it gets nasty under viaducts around here too. The worst nearby was when the old dams on the Tittabawassee River in Sanford and Midland Mi collapsed last year. Near wiped out both towns.
