Tonight at 6:00 pm DET the channel ESPN 2 will broadcast the 2021 Air guitar championship. This ought to be fun to watch. I'd figure many of us pickers here probably played some wicked air guitar in our time. Whitefang

Never played air guitar that I can recall. I started out on real guitars and never went to the air guitar playing.
I also do not have cable or satellite TV for ESPN. I refuse to pay for that at 80 to a hundred bucks a month. I have over 36 to 40 channels of over the air TV. plus Netflix and Prime Both for about 25 bucks a month total, plus I buy a lot of stuff on Amazon so the Prime is just about free, plus a DVD player that has Netflix and Prime as several options of internet TV so I can watch those on the big TV. I do not have a smart TV but the DVD player makes my TV a little smarter. We will probably get a smart TV soon, they are cheap enough.

Funny, since the "cable" at this p[ark is so bad, and Jo is house bound so far, I got set up with dish yesterday. $75 a month or so they say. I saw that air guitar thing listed but since air harmonica was not represented I boycotted it. Just wondering did any of the competitors take a knee or turn away during the national anthem?

Ach, well, missed the first five or ten minutes of it, but quickly realized I didn't miss much. I've never seen any of these competitions before. I thought maybe "air" guitar meant trying to look like one was really playing an actual invisible guitar. Turns out none of them seem to know how playing a guitar should look. My mistake was thinking good pantomime had something to do with it.
Here's a good(or typical rather) example------
