Life is getting weirder and weirder. I just sold my first download from, my new not-yet-a-CD. I have a young friend with a punk band. They've just done their first album. They're not going to release the album as a CD, because "Nobody buys CDs, any more. they just download music." When I told him that not everybody is 27, he was pretty close to right in saying everybody who listens to his music is. Even though his band isn't doing a CD, they're doing a limited run of vinyl lps, and if you purchase the whole ablum by downloading it, you get a free l.p. Which is invaluable if you're 27 and have a record player. Maybe I should put my album out on Edison cylinder. I sold two downloads almost immediately after I tried a one month free-trial for selling recordings (are they actually recordings?) on Reverbnation. Sometimes I feel almost Amish.

When I was listening to one of yolur songs on Reverbnation I was thinking, blimey Steve, Jerry here is way ahead of you in his tech savvy approach and I hope you'll forgive me for bearing in mind that you are somewhat older than I am. I have been telling myself for ages now that I shoudl record an albums worth of songs and put them online for download-both free and for a small cost. Jerry you are showing the way.

Yeah, I got some years on you, Steve. The sound of my new CD is due in great part to my producer. There are great producers who work for a reasonable hourly rate if you look around for them. As far as I'm concerned, if you eventually break even on a CD, you're way ahead, because you've shared your music with a lot more people. What is music for, if not to be shared? Go for it!

Funny thing is that this afternoon, my Brother called and we were discussing my recording and he and I have a mutaul friend who is an aspiring producer and my Brother suggested I engage him to "produce" me. So I think I will go for it Jerry. Just wrote a chorus/hook to a song this afternoon too and so I need to get things organised and record, say, 12 of my songs and see what happens when I put them out there. I can do local gigs to promote too with my side project mates.

That's great, Steve. You know I'm going to want to hear it.
