No I can't. I admire the dexterity of those who can though I am not a huge fan of the widdly widdly stuff.

I was somewhat like that in '68 to '70 but changed to different thoughts on what really liked shortly after. Still many of the shred style guys do play some very musical tunes. I do see shreding in more musical styles now like country and blues. I also know it doesn't hold general listening audiences very long or well. They have to generally keep it short in a good song and make it work with the song.

I can't shred for several reasons. 1.Lack of musical ability and talent 2.Old stiff hands and fingers 3.Lack of interest in it. When I'm in the mood, I like to listen to Johnny Winter, Billy Gibbons.Buddy Guy and other players that hit a lot of notes, as for my playing,I like Muddy's style and speed. Hooker

Yes so what!! I have all ways been able to play very fast But Lost interest in it. The soul is in the Feel and you can't put much feel in a note that only last .00000001 seconds.
I started Way before they called it Shredding Back in the 1960s We just call it playing fast I did Because Roy Clark played FAST. He being one of my early influences
Over the years I just kind of quit playing fast Blues for sure is not needing Much Speed. Chet Atkins never needed it
