Big drive yesterday, near 400 miles. Much shorter finish today, about 4 hours instead of 9. I'm feeling it! But the temp right now is about 10 degrees less than in Louisiana. It will hit low 90's later.

Just touching 90 degrees 'round here the last few days. I stay in with the air( just have one of those "portable" A/C units that vents out a window, but helps cool down the houe well enough).
Kudos to you. I could have never done what you do for survival.

Nothing wrong with a Portacool.
I'll be working mornings I think, indoors but not real cool.
We arrived about an hour ago. Hot but not so humid. I'm still sweat soaked from setting the rig outside and getting things out in here. But no more long hauls until spring! I'll guess within a month things will be more livable outdoors and our A/C is working well inside. Still it does get close in here midday.

We're out of range it looks like. San Antonio is on the edge of the big rains as ir Austin, and we're north and west of there.

This afternoon we're going to go see a few joints in town, see about doing music there. Plus we'll stop by Luckenbach, just down the road.
If places make less than 50% of their revenue on alcohol they can have half occupancy, with protocols in place. So my info is there are some places hiring musicians.

I don't know how some do it. I'm too used to a temperate climate to want to live in year 'round heat.Gets close to 80 and I'm too hot to enjoy anything. Whitefang

Whitefang 50 days of over 110*F here in the lovely Sonoran desert this summer. We smashed the record for that many days of those temperatures this year. That record is for the first time this area had more than 15 days or so over 110*. Although it is a tough year here this year and it is hot, I did not have to shovel any of it to get my air conditioned car out of the driveway.

"I did not have to shovel any of it to get my air conditioned car out of the driveway."
Yeah. I'm doing reverse psychology here. "It's FREEZING OUT! Where's my sweater?"
We've begun the promo process. Got 1 no and one maybe so far. Took a ride to Albert where there is a road house but it appears to be closed. Downtown Fredburg has several live music venues we will be working on, we drove through this evening. It's still damn HOT, 95 right now. But September and through November we're hoping things will be nice. I'm going to contact the city this coming week about whether or not we need a permit to play on the street. There may be a farmers market spot too.

Although it is a tough year here this year and it is hot, I did not have to shovel any of it to get my air conditioned car out of the driveway. HEH! Just like(it seems) I have to get out a shovel every time I hear people try to tell me how "great" it is living in a convection oven! But I'm yanking your chain here. I know you're referring to shoveling snow. But that's never bothered me. Well, now that I'm older and now have this spinal issue, it's a different game. And, as an equivalent to your "air conditioned car", my vehicle has a HEATER. The main issue about it with me is being on this aggressive blood thinner which makes cool feel cold and cold? Well..... And like we say in this climate; "You can always put on more layers of clothing to get warmer, but there's only so much you can legally remove as it gets hotter." Whitefang
