"Social distancing" really isn't the same as "antisocial". And also really has nothing to do with insecurity. Now, if people chose to do so if advised it really wasn't necessary, then THAT would be insecurity.
And since I really don't understand "streaming", I'd say if anyone can "stream" your stuff for free, I don't see how it helps your situation.

I was referring to Social Security. Of course we're keeping distance from other humans because this virus has no legs or wings, it relies on humans for transport. That's why it's important to stay at a remove. And clean a lot.
I am with you Fang, live streaming is a mystery to me. But many are doing just that, so they can stay connected to peers and audiences even in quarantine or isolation. They put out a virtual tip bucket too, so anyone who's watching their living room concert can tip them a bit. So it's also a possibility to make a couple of bucks that's lost income due to gigs having evaporated. DBM has offered some help but he's pretty much a regular studio guy. The end picture is I need at least a little bit of hardware I don't have. And possibly more bandwidth, which I'm not planning on getting.
For now I'm posting old and new vids at the harp players' group, about 1 or 2 a week. The Sockfoot Sessions since we're working from home here. My YT vids all do have our Paypal link and we've ordered up more CD's so we're hoping to sell a few units and maybe get a tip or two as well.

So maybe we'll get some dough out of this mess. I would not complain and we could sure use a shot!

Judging by your absence lately I wondered if you DID get shot! At first, I was gonna answer with telling you that alcohol isn't the answer, but then figured you might have meant some other kind of "shot" Whitefang

33 years without a shot I doubt I'll take one today. I've been spending more time with the harp group and we're taking couple-hour sightseeing drives several days a week.
Of course we're watching the developments- pretty much daily- on the virus front. It will directly impact our immediate future as in if we can travel safely across several states from Texas to Ohio for my summer gig. IF I still have a summer gig! Which last I knew I did but things are so fluid lately. I can stay and work here in the Hill Country but it gets damned hot here, not conducive to living in a metal box. Lake Erie appeals to us a lot even if the place is quiet this season.
Our new videos are getting posted on YouTube as we do them. I'm still flummoxed on doing actual live streaming.
There's the nutshell sketch.

It seems (that against better judgement) Texas is opening up sooner than some states further North, so your annual migration might be slower than customary. Just hopin' it's enough to sustain you. Whitefang

I think we've only seen the opening act on this farce.

What is it you're referring to as the "farce"? Whitefang

I don't know exactly. I believe the virus is real and dangerous. I believe most of government agencies and other health organizations are acting in good faith. But then I see news that people are heading to the beach, church, whatever, continuing to put others at risk, thanks to leaders deciding that the economy needs to get back on track. I see big companies sucking up small business money. I see some key leaders trying- and succeeding- in using the crisis situation to make political hay. The late response to the whole mess was politically motivated and it will cost lives I think. The press is jumping on any tidbit that gets a reporter on camera. True or false. The gravity of the situation is lost on many. Demanding that quarantines and isolation and distancing be lifted because one is tired of them is not a valid reason to let people out. Self serving whiners who are "bored" should not be the driving force here. Medical professional and cool headed citizens should be calling the shots. Individual rights sometimes have to take a back seat to what's best for the most.
I fear we are going to see a wicked second wave, maybe even a third. So many people want things back to "normal", whatever that may have been. The new normal will be quite a bit different. Right off the bat we will see food shortages, gas prices rising like never before. A lot of businesses, large and small, will fail. The value of the dollar may tank. We are barely IN the woods let alone coming out of them.
I think boiled down I see farce in some of the political reaction to a dire emergency. I see farce in people demanding that their rights be restored so they can go out and play. We're seeing a true study in irony when protective gear bought from other countries is defective and unsanitary, yet we expect out care givers to suck it up and do their jobs anyway, at risk of getting sick and maybe dying. Farce is leaders neglecting some areas because they don't "like" them.
That's all for now. I'll either regret this or think of more.

I'm with ya on most of that Bone. It boggles me(and shames me) that I know some folks who actually think their "fearless leader"( that should be "feckless") knows best and more about viral infections and medicinal chemistry than those with years of training and experience in those fields. And the MAGA fools actually believing it's all a "liberal" conspiracy. As for the failing businesses...
Most businesses, large or small, if competently run should be prepared for any possible emergency that might interfere with "business as usual". Even those businesses that are the financial institutions which hold the loans, leases and homeowner's mortgages on those businesses and "furloughed" homeowners who can't, due to circumstances beyond their control, fail to meet their obligations. Of course, if they were all "deadbeats" who neglect and/or refuse to make their contracted payments, that's a different matter. But now, it should have been incumbent on those institutions to have contingent plans in place for the unforeseen.
And no, Bone. You have nothing to regret. Whitefang

Well thanks for that Fang. This whole thoing is going to define what kind of persons we are and what kind of society we choose to live in. It will point out some very nefarious practices a few are perpetrating on the rest of us, to abridge rights and make profits off of the confusion and fear. I sometimes wish I'd bought stock in Purell or Charmin' long ago.
But good news!
Just got confirmed this morning, we can head for Ohio in early May, quarantine in place at our RV park for 2 weeks, and then I can get to work for the summer. I also had a call from a gal in Montana who had an offer for me near Glacier National Park, but the work was heavy and the pay was not. Ohio it is! And I have at least this place to return to for winter even if other opportunities may have dissolved meanwhile.
My information is, we will have no border crossing issues en route in our travels. A couple or three KOAS along the way. Maybe one grocery stop in between but we usually stock pretty well before we travel so we don't have to keep stopping and buying stuff.
It is a serious weight off my beleaguered mind.

Glad to hear it. And on the lighter side(maybe?) The situation about toilet paper has gotten so bad that I can't even find any KLEENEX in any store! Whitefang

Bad to hear that. We're somewhat stocked and may need it up north I guess. Or is it time to improvise a bidet and keep some alcohol spray handy?
