Fang, that's about 1/3 of the total. Several people just mailed checks. So we are indeed getting there. We are 2/3 to our goal. Evaluation visit is 2 weeks out. I'm hoping things move pretty quick after that. I'd love it if my bride has her sight back for the holidays! And a new eyeglass prescription.
Donations have been flat for like a week and a half now.

SO! Good news here. Goal has been met! We will be taking down the campaign in a few days. Have to wait for the last donation to migrate to our bank. I want to thank all who sent good thoughts, love, prayers, or $$ our way. Every good deed has made a difference and we vow to pass on the good every chance we get.

So this morning we went and they dilated Jo's eyes and did the whole checkout thing and diagnosis. She is scheduled early next month to get the cataracts done, one at a time, on Nov. 11 and then the 18th. Very detailed diagnosis, took about an hour and a half and several tests. We go in the 4th to go over the whole thing and get the eye drops. Then a visit the day before each surgery and then the surgery and then a follow up the day after. Once that's all done it will be a few months for a follow up. So we'll be busy running around to both the office and the hospital. Seems she's a good candidate for success. Should have a much lighter eyeglass prescription afterwards and she will have vision and vivid color back!

Glad to learn that. I remember when my Father in law went through that. He worried more than we did, us knowing that procedure is pretty much routine these days and has very little risk involved. She should get through it OK because it sounds as if she has a good man to help her through it. Whitefang

Post op check today and the eye shield came off. Jo is at 20/30 on the right eye, best ever! She can see like never before and we're like 40% done with correction. Amazing. Our last gig, she could not see lyrics or notation, and the frets were messing with her vision as well. I suspect she will soon be a force to reckon with!

Thanks guys! Between surgeries there's a lot of drops to put in, otherwise it's an easy gig. I think by Dec. 1 we should be clear and then it will be eyeglasses time.

Thanks for the reminder! I still haven't made an appointment with an eye doctor, don't know why it keeps getting put on the back burner. But it's been more than a decade since I last saw one. Have no vision problem except I know this should be done regularly and my glasses too, are way overdue for updating and renewal. I used the excuse that my spine issues made it difficult to walk around much and parking at some of these offices called for longer walks to the door than painlessly possible, but since my fusion surgery in July, that excuse no longer flies. So--- I just have to get off my ass and do it! Whitefang
