Visit with chiropractor went well. A composite od small things wrong which the guy took care of. Still a ways to go but she's beginning to mend.

Hope that helps. My wife went to a chiropractor for something(I forget) and he was no help at all. Neither was the endocrinologist everybody insisted she go to for help with her diabetes. Relying on the medical profession these days is a crapshoot. Emphasis on the CRAP! Whitefang

They saved my life in 2006 from a certain death. Ever since then, I have had the greatest confidence in my specialists and especially my primary care doctor.
Got my blood work back yesterday for my yearly physical, a little high on the PSA's (normal for my age) and a little high on the cholesterol (been eating lots of cheese and coconut cream lately), I will quit that and it will all go back down to normal hopefully.

I have used chiropractic care for over 30 years as needed. Early on it was needed a lot. It's a holistic approach to healing which in short is, keeping the body in shape so it can heal itself. There is plenty it can't address but for my purposes I have had good results. Chiropractic has gotten me through several car wrecks, a couple of which were pretty bad whiplash injuries, work injuries, and a lot of nutrition and bad posture situations. If I did everything right I doubt I'd need much care but as it is I have been to about 7 different practitioners in several states over about 50 years. Most have been very effective. In fact all but one have done me much more good than bad. One guy in '79 did not like me because I was a Yankee in the south. He was very rough although the end result was positive. I'm not trying to convert anyone here. I use MD's as needed and of course those folks saved Jolene's life, no doubt about that.
I had assumed that one thing was wrong in Jo's back, based on symptoms. I had had very similar symptoms about 32 years ago and it was due to badly torn muscle tissue in my middle back. I was wrong, which happens more than I like! The guy we saw yesterday was very good at listening to Jo and reading the CT scan results and recent x rays, and tailored his treatment to what Jo needed and asked for. He was gentle but very effective.
We were turned on to a new topical cream to reduce inflammation and I started putting it on both Jo's back and my shoulders yesterday. Jury is out but I'm optimistic. She's feeling much better today than the previous few days!
Her Regal guitar went back to the shop yesterday to have the action lowered some. I think it will be a fine axe for slide stuff. I also have a stick on pickup I will order soon. The last Regal she had that's how we amped it as well and it worked very well.
So today is going to be an easy one pretty much. My big project will be to bake a lemon meringue pie. Last attempt the Meringue was a total flop, literally. This time I'm armed with a new cheap mixer and some cream of tartar. I think it will go much better.
The jury is out on the upcoming gig, we'll decide Monday if Jo feels good enough to try and play several sets.

When I was surfing every day back in the day when my kids and I were in southern Cal for winter surfing, I used to go to the chiropractor several times a week because of the severe twisting one does on certain waves. It helped this was in the mid to late 70's, I have not needed a chiropractor since then but they sure can be useful in some circumstances..

Jo wants to play the gig Wednesday. I think if she takes it easy over the weekend and we keep the meds going to keep swelling down and promote healing, she can try playing a bit Monday. Depending on that and other factors we may just try it!
New cream for anti inflammatory, Voltaren, seems like good stuff.
I dropped her little Regal off at the shop yesterday and it should be ready early next week but I doubt she'll do much slide for a while. It's been a couple of years since she's had the opportunity or means to do that.

Visit with chiropractor went well. A composite of small things wrong which the guy took care of. Still a ways to go but she's beginning to mend. We go back this Thursday. Jo is mending, a bit better each day, but we have to be careful not to get busy again too quickly.

"Get busy"? Heh. That used to be( probably still is) a euphemism for something kinda personal I imagine however, THAT would be included as well. Whitefang

The weather gets jenky 'round here too. Never rains when predicted, but pours when it's NOT predicted!
Gets annoying. Whitefang
