Okay. Many thanks Dave, Fang, and all. Here's the news. We can't play any more as a duo. Jo's cancer is progressing. Big doses of opiates are helping some but we will know more after xrays get read, which she had taken today. I can't expect any more from my biggest hero. She has done more than anyone could expect already, not just music but every way one can be a partner.
Her pain was so bad early today and actually for a few days, and so we upped her dosage and frequency, and she's doing better, but it's gone far enough that we just had to pull the plug. We've known for a while this was coming but we all want more time, right? The stats were pretty grim, 5 years survival rate WITH treatment, 1 year without.
In an odd way it's a relief to know. Takes a lot of pressure off her. Which believe me that is a good thing. We can focus on the more important aspects in the time we have left together. That's the story so far.

Very best wishes for Jo jawbone. I hope all goes easily at this time. I live in a retirement community, and I see and hear all kinds of senior tribulations frequently, and many from friends (1 just passed away the night before last after years of trying to stay alive) And it ain't pretty. I hope Jo's condition is as easy on both of you as can be. Best Wishes.

Thank you so much fellows! This is the latest- no metastasis into her vertebrae. Good news. BUT, she has four compression fractures in lumbar and thoracic verts. Not sure what can be done d]besides pain meds, more later on this.
End result is the same, the duo is likely done live performing. If possible and if she wants to do it, later we may do some videos of our original stuff and post them. A guy in California has one video I sent that he will play on his internet radio show for the rest of the year.

Possibly( and I hope not) similar fusion surgery like I had. Which I think might be more difficult for her in her present condition. Damn! This stuff keeps happening to all the wrong people ALL the time! But, don't give up hope and most of all, don't give up the love! Whitefang

I'm in for the haul. I told HIM so long ago and it's just as true today. I don't know about surgery, the question would be if she could withstand the aftermath.

When I had my spinal fusion surgery, the surgeon said it would take as long as a year to make a full recovery. I reached that point Thursday. But I felt OK long before that although there is some residual discomfort. With all Jo has going on surgery might be a questionable option. Did anyone suggest those epidural injections? Whitefang

We only just got the xray results yesterday so it's early yet to look at options. Pain management so far and bed rest with some walking is about it for now.

So to follow up here, we moved back to our travel trailer a few days after my last post in July. The key thing has been medication to manage pain. We've pretty much avoided any more pain crises and after some experimenting and adding a different compound, things have been pretty well smooth for Jo for over 2 months. She's been housebound until just recently. We're still getting a tramp put in so she can get in and out without messing with steps. Since she's feeling a lot better we have been playing some here every day. Up to 3 songs a day and moving up. Jo's goal is to get back on the street this fall once a weekend. We figure 8 or 9 songs will do it. We got her a padded folding chair last week and I painted it blue and put her name on the back in gold. Uptown! So progress. Things look much better than a few months ago.
