Yes, that's right. And it would be for me. When the time comes I plan of course to carry on with music, and I thought why not challenge myself and add a dimension to my skill set at the same time? Jo likes this one for me- republicguitars.com/collections/clarksdale-special/products/clarksdale-special-relic-nickelI'm thinking single cone- cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0119/9584/0569/files/P3_1520x.jpeg?v=1532293423True, I know pretty much nothing about playing strings, but once upon a time I knew nothing about playing harmonica. Between Jo as long as she's here, Youtube, and maybe some actual lessons, I think I can come up with just enough slide stuff to be dangerous. Rack up a harp, get the foot pedals built for the cajon and I'd be a force to be reckoned with. I know a lot of songs can translate yo slide that we've already done and I have stuff written, not to mention all the songs I've never played at all. We know Jo's time is getting shorter. But she is even kind of pushing me to get busy on this, sell her guitar and get one for me, I think so she can have some influence on my learning curve. She has a sense of urgency. (She just finished her autobiography and I have it transcribed and sent to an author friend for evaluation. Sometimes homebound is not a bad thing!)

So I'm guessing my suggesting Havens' style or Joni Mitchell's method didn't appeal to ya, eh? Well, whatever you feel most comfortable doing. I'm sure you'll do OK. Both axes look OK. Whitefang

Closer to RJ, Skip James, and Son House if I can make that happen. I'd settle for Johnny Winter or John Mooney level.

Well I'm not looking for handouts. Miracles maybe! I watched several demo videos last evening and had something of an epiphany. I may possibly achieve some height as a player but it will take the same dogged determination and stubborn dedication I've had to employ for decades, to get anyplace close. I will actually be satisfied with some basics and a continued bit of progress.
The Republic line has a waiting list at least 7 months long so I may be looking in a different direction.

So are you leaning more to a full metal body, or a wood bodied axe?

Metal so far but I need to try some out to see for sure. One can spend a lot of dough on a real vintage axe like National or Dobro, the alternative being a new generation china built high quality instrument.

Interesting. I plan to sit and have a harp in a rack, maybe do foot percussion stuff though.

You likely will be wanting to try open D tuning, from lowest to highest: D A D F♯ A D or the Son House variation of open G tuning which is D-G-D-G-B-D.

That's one and another is open G. Jo has used that for a long time.
