I have not broken a string in many many years. Probably at least 10 years, and I bend the heck out of the 1st to 3rd strings. I use D'Adderio XL 110's tuned to concert pitch. Good luck in figuring out that problem jawbone .

The strings on the guitar I havew no idea what brand of course but the gauge was pretty light. 12's or even 1's. These are heavier for at least the 3 smaller strings. Putting them on later.

30 miles from ANYWHERE? That's too remote for me. Especially at these gas prices. I at least hope you had the good sense to order more than just ONE SET of strings, in case it happens again? Whitefang

Swapped from 12 to 14 and up, the sound is fantastic in in my hammy hands! Still very long way to go.
