Saw several guitars displayed on that link. So, which is the one you're considering?

So I called the shop in Tucson today wondering where the guitar was. It will be here tomorrow! I am nervous!

So of course Murphy's law strikes. Reverb.com, I had not changed the address to this one. So, waiting on a call from UPS, not Fedex, and hoping they can drop the guitar at the local store so I can go get it there. Sigh .

So I get to make a run to Kerrville to pick up the guitar. Leaving shortly so I hope to be making terrible noises by about 8 p.m.!

Yes if you hear something between a scrap iron truck crashing and two cats mating that may be me.
In other news, I threw my mandolin veggie slicer away today. A bit late, I sliced my thumb, index, and middle finger. May set back my finger picking practice!
Before that I sat down and fooled with the guitar for a while. 7/8" socket as a slide. It does sound great but I have miles to go! I think it will be such a rush though.

Time to learn the basics jawbone, learn scales and learn how to build chords from scales, and learn how to use those scales to create melodies. It seems a little daunting at first but get yourself a good basics guitar book. And go from there. In a short while you will understand the concepts. It just seems hard at first, but it is as simple as basic arithmetic once you understand it.

Since most guitars for slide are open tuned, learning chords isn't an issue I would think. My issue, when trying slide, was doing solo melodies calling for picking on only one string, while moving the slide up and down the neck for particular notes, while simultaneously muting the strings I wasn't using and didn't want heard.
